if every post on this board was deleted in 48 hours this place would like a new site as well.

It's telling about the users of the service when that post got 25 updoots
https://reedybear.bearblog.dev/mixed-feelings-about-charlie-kirks-death
while this one gets 45 updoots

I decided to force /trash/ to the bottom of the board list so new users won't see it first at least.
I used to omit it from latest posts but that just made keeping track of what is getting posted there more difficult. Logged in users have the option to prevent it from displaying anywhere on the site but of course no one uses that.
Maybe I could come out with different endpoints for latest posts, some that include trash, and default ones that don't.
But another thing to keep in mind is that the moment users start coming here expecting this to be a manicured, safe Internet experience where all the things they don't like never appear is the moment that those users will be mad at us for not being able to deliver that.

Interesting not because we haven't seen articles suggesting we cut off our digital vices before, but because "doing superficial work" is included as one of these vices.
Guess I never thought about it that way.

It seems like I'm always talking about how I wish there was a version of neocities that had fewer children. Then I think it through and realize that's like saying, "I wish there was a version of Nickelodeon that had fewer children." It doesn't really make sense. The early years of neocities where it was all nerds from HN was always going to be temporary.
Meanwhile there are small web services that are intrinsically more appealing to adults where we could be connecting with others. Bear blog reminds me of a stripped down, non-corporate, FOSS inspired LiveJournal for the 2020s.
I've only just started messing around with it but here's some links:
Main Site: https://bearblog.dev/
Discover Blogs: https://bearblog.dev/discover/
I started one, although there's nothing there yet except bad omens. https://nobo.bearblog.dev/
I'm going to try to update this thread with links to interesting bear blog posts so feel free to do that if you want.

it's this status updating website that you can post to anonymously. Statuses will auto delete in 48 hours. It seems like its very new and not a lot of people know about it yet. Could be fun to mess with it.

Real. I just finished the Red Ribbon saga tonight. The first movie will be next!
DBZ was pretty widely popularized compared to Dragon Ball. They have a pretty big tone shift between them, but I'm interested in seeing how that actually comes together. It's been so long

I started rewatching the dubbed anime of Dragon Ball this week. I forgot how funny and high energy the show was

Wow amazing. Maybe in 20 years someone will post a screenshot of this board and share it to show that people have been shitting up threads with unrelated politics for decades. Include me in the screenshot. Hello future readers!
